The National League for Nursing's Certified Nurse Educator (CNE®) credential recognizes faculty and nurse educators for excellence in education. The academic nurse educator certification serves as the credential recognizing nursing education as a specialty area of practice and creates a means for faculty to demonstrate their expertise in this role.

The American Academy of Nursing (AAN) serves the public and the nursing profession by advancing health policy and practice through the generation, synthesis, and dissemination of nursing knowledge. The Academy's more than 2,600 fellows (FAAN's) inducted from the international community of nurses are recognized for their extraordinary contributions as nursing's most accomplished leaders in education, management, practice, and research.
